Course Summary

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Program at Lamppost Healthcare LLC is designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes needed to provide safe, compassionate, and effective basic care to patients and residents in healthcare settings.

The program combines online live instructor-led instruction, hands-on skills training, and clinical experience to help students develop the competencies required of an entry-level nurse assistant. Students learn how to assist individuals with activities of daily living, promote patient safety and comfort, communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals, and recognize and report changes in a patient's condition.

What Students Will Learn

Throughout the program, students will receive instruction and practical training in areas including:

Specialized Care Training

Students receive focused instruction in:

  • Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias

  • Developmental and Mental Disorders

  • Dementia Communication and Person-Centered Care

  • Epilepsy and Parkinson's Disease

Hands-On Skills Training

Students will have opportunities to practice essential nurse assistant skills in a skilled nursing facility. Hands-on practice is designed to help students develop confidence, accuracy, safety awareness, and appropriate professional conduct in a clinical setting.

Clinical Experience

The program includes supervised clinical training that allows students to apply what they learned in theory in an actual healthcare environment. Students will complete 100 hours of supervised clinical training at an approved clinical training facility.

Clinical training includes supervised practice of required nurse assistant skills and competencies.

Clinical Training Location:

  • Rowland Convalescent Hospital
    Covina, California

Clinical training is conducted according to the program's approved training schedule and clinical-site agreement.
